I lost my beloved kitty, Zippo, on Friday.
Words are insuffiicent to describe my anguish. Mostly as a means of distracting myself, I decided to do some tribute nails. But I didn’t want to just do black. Instead, I found a yellow that matched the sheets on our bed, where Zippo would also be curled up, and used the kitty stamp from the Cheeky Wild at Heart plate in black to stand in for Zippo. It may not be the most refined tribute ever, but it makes me think of him.
This my favorite manicure I have ever done. I’m so pleased with it, especially since it came out even better that it looked in my head.
I started with a white base and used a makeup sponge to dab on a gradient of Orly Glowstick and Color Club Wham! Pow!. Then I stamped the tiger stripes from Mash plate 38. It’s even brighter and more neon-tastic in person.
4th of July nails. Essie Aruba Blue with accents of 365 Days of Color American Spirit. That’s actually my right-hand thumb making a cameo appearance, in case you were trying to work out how this contorted pose came to be.
